Life during Pause

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all of my workshops and tours have been temporarily postponed. This is my primary source of income and I continue to sell gift certificates for when life continues as normal.

In the meantime I have been doing a lot of updating on my website. You can check out my Greenwich Village photo gallery and also the neighborhood guide and think of it as a virtual tour.

Be safe and take some extra time to enjoy some photography or art! We can still hope and perhaps daydream.

Make America Gay Again

The entire month of June is Pride Month in New York City and this year the city will be hosting International Pride. It is in connection with the 50 year anniversary of the Stonewall Inn riots. I understand that the hotels are nearly booked to capacity for it. But hey you can still book a private photo tour for yourself or your significant other. There’s so much to see, photograph and experience in this city!

shadows and light

Shadows and light and repetitive patterns! These are things that I am always looking for. This photo was taken during a photo tour in Greenwich Village, Soho and the East Village. You never know when you turn a corner what will be there! We wander looking for the things that make good composition and that is a subject that I always talk about. If there is one thing you really can’t change in post-processing, it’s composition. I like to make photography something that is fun and we always experiment. I have learned more by experimenting and making mistakes then just about anything else. Also, I think that patience is a big part of it all. When finding shadows and light or other things for a composition, you might have to wait. – 21 March 2017On Broadway

step into the light

I was out giving a photo tour about 2 weeks ago in Greenwich Village & Soho. We did a lot of street photography. They’re New Yorkers and photographers! So I didn’t take them down any streets they haven’t been on. Well, maybe with the exception of Minetta Lane where this photo was taken. But that’s not the point. The tour experience and photography is always about seeing things with new eyes. How excellent that were able to capture such amazing shadows! And that we had a great time together. But we always work with the elements as they are provided to us. Some things can’t be planned. If you want to plan a photo tour with me you can see a number of my suggested tours and you can also contact me. That I can plan! You can also see reviews by people who have taken my tours in the past. – step into the light, 21 March 2017step into the light
